THE FREEMAN'S BAY MEETING.
To the Editor of the Datit souths** i;»os». Sic,— la the report given in this day's Sei/THBttH 1 Cboss of a pubUc meeting held last night at the Freeman's Arms, «ne of the speakers is represented to have said of Mr. George Graham, that he (Mr. Graham) promised to gi?e £100 to the improvements if the Freeman's Bay people would secure his election for Newton. I do not know if Mr. Graham paid the money ; Ido not kndw if he be the elected of Newton ; but Ido know that the statement con. tains a charge disgraceful to Mr. Graham as a citizen, and disgraceful to those who were to be bought for £100. Let us hope for a denial of tho truth of the imputation,— Yours, &o. A. Bit Auckland, January 19, 1867. -^eW
