Of the month's shipments to Australia, Stables, Sfcraker, and Co.'s Circular speaks thus : — The opinion, expressed in our circular of the 16th ultimo— that we might probably look for lower figures prevailing for a time, in view of the heavy totals of drapery goods which had been shipped during the preceding three months — has failed, as yet, to receive its confirmation. Indeed, the decline of £167,413 established last month upon the figures for May-June, is almost balanced by a net increase on the present occasion of £132,134, the relative totals being £1,254,499 for the month now under review, against £1,125,365 in June- July. The Constituent dotailo are as follow : —

Messrs. Gerbaulet and Co, 'a Rotterdam Advices quotes the cargo of the * Vooruit (cleared for Melbourne on the 18th ultimo) viz. :— 16,065 red and 1,000 green cases geneva,, but no candles. From Charente we have the clearance of the ' Tamatave' (Bordeaux to Sydney, 31st July), with 170 casks and 2,500 cases of brandy, 20 hhds. and 1,340 cases of wina, 450 cases of cordials, 150 cases of vinegar, 32 cases of prunes, 200 cases of sardines, I 110 packages of oilmen's stores, 16 casks of soda crystals, 84 casks of glass, 140 packages of brooms, and 3,500 barrels of flour. The 'Olivier and Madeleine' cleared from Bordeaux on the 7th inst., and we hope to receive particulars of her cargo in time for our Marseilles supplement. The ' Ozanam' and ' Marie Therese' are on the berth at Charente, and the ' Mohely' at Bordeaux. Their supplementary circular of the 25th August states : — Since the close of our last statistical month shipments have been made on a lighter scale. Six vessels have cleared for Melbourne, two for Sydney, two for Queensland, and one each for Adelaide, Launceston, Auckland, Nelson, and Wellington. The whole of the above, excepting the * Essex, ' whose manifest we have not been able to obtain, find a place in the tables, although necessarily in some cases imperfect. The ' Caribou ' cleared from Liverpool for Otago on the Bth instant, with 281 tons of coal, but, having gone round to the Clyde to complete, she will appear in the tables as from the date cf her last clearance. By a typographical error in our circular of the 15thinsr., beer in glass, per ' Red Rover,' for Melbourne, was returned as 130. barrels, instead of 330 barrels. The additional 200 barrels are carried to the usual " late entry " list. In addition to the vessels quoted in the tables, the ' Orwell,' for Sydney ; the • Glenmark,' for Canterbury ; and the 'Moulin,' for Otago, cleared on the day of closing the circular ; consequently no portion of their manifest is yet prepared. From Rotterdam we learn that the ' Vooruit,' whose cargo was quoted in our ]*st issue, was detained by adverse winds, and finally put to sea on the 13th instant. Note. — Whilst the circular was at press a portion of the manifest of the ' Essex' came to hand. The principal items so received are : Wrought leather, £1,500; paper, 90cwt. ; brushware, £310 ; platedware, £415 ; pig iron, 70 tons; paint?, £500 ; tobacco, 4,1851b. ; brandy, 8,400 gallons ; white wine, 400 gallons ; cheese, 52cwt. ; apothecary ware, £600.
