QUEEN'S REDOUBT. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) October 1.
Yxstkrdat afternoon two detachments— consisting the one of a subaltern, 2 sergeants, a drummer, and 69 rank and file, H Company, 57th Regiment ; and the other, of an officer and 30 men, I Battery Royal Artillery, with two 12 and two 6-pounder Armstrongs — arrived from Te Awamutu, and proceed this morning to Auokland, The former is intended for duty, and the latter en route for England. lam informed it has been announced in regimental order* at Te Awamutu that the 57th are to hold themselves in readiness for proceeding home. Late this evening the several detachments of the lit Waikatoi who were stationed in the Waikato distriot arrived, consisting of 4 captains, 0 subal*eruo, xi ■cigmtfcar. *Tmgrer<r, *uarixio ranK inante, They remain here, I understand, till the sth, or until a sufficient number of drays can be procured for the conveyance of the luggage, bo., wheu the force pro* deeds to Taurapga, vi% Auokland, Our Dramatic Club proposes giving another performanoe on the 3rd j the pieces being, by special deiire, a repetition of "Gilderoy" and "Ben Braoe, the Castaway."
