DRURY. (FROM OUR OWN CORRESPONDENT.) October 2.

Monday, the Ist inst., was the day for holding the Court in Drury; but previously a Court was hel,d in Papakura by C. Mellaop, Esq., R.M., where a man named Robert Hall was charged with feloniously stealing, on the 28th September, 501b. weight of kauri gum, of the value of 75., from the shop of Archibald McDonald, in Papakura. The prisoner pleaded guilty, and was sentenced to two months' imprisonment, with hard labour. The Court was shortly afterwards opened in Drury, when the following' cases were heard :—: — MARY MCCONNELL Y. JOHN MAGILL. This case arose on an information charging defendant with assaulting plaintiff at Pokeno on the 11th of September. After hearing evidence, the defendant was convicted of a common assault, and was fined £1, with costs, or 14 days' imprisonment. CHRISTOPHER LEA.THAK Y. JOHN MABTIN. This was a claim for £20, the alleged value of a horse, property of the plaintiff, but in the possession of, and wrongfully detained by, 'the defendant. Mr. James Russell for plaintiff ; Mr. MacCormick for defendant. This case occupied considerable time in hearing. Judgment reserved to Monday, the 15th inst., at Papakura. . y BUBXSIDEV. SYTRKTT.
