[ A DVERTISKMKNT. ] To the Editor of th« Daily Southern Cxohi.

SIR, — The report given in yonr colomns of the case of 'Garlick y. Lusk, which you have headed " Bubble Companies," leads in some respects to a false idea of the facts of the case. They are these. Although nominally the defendant in the suit referred to, I was, and was known to be, marely acting for a gentleman who is well known ia Auckland, but who chanced to be at the time in another part of the colony. In his instructions, which I carried out, I saw nothing improper, nor can I see how any business man can do so. The scheme of a newspaper company is not a new one ; and on the supposition that the frequently expressed wish for a paper in this city that should be public property was really felt, there cannot be any reasonable doubt that it might have been made a success, commercially. So far as I know, everyone who was, even in the very slightest degree, connected with the scheme regarded it in the light of a bonft fidt, and by no means wild, speculation ; and on this ground T protest most strongly against the misuse of language which applied to it the title of "Bubble Company," and the gratuitous insinuations levelled at the good faith of individuals. — I am, &c, HUGH H. LUSK. Auckland, July 13, 1866.
