The brig Rita, Captain Robertson, sailed yesterday afternoon for Sydney, with a cargo of 1,000 baga potatoes, gum, ' hides, timber, kc.-, and 11 __ passengers, whose names were given in yesterday's issne. The barque Frederick BaasiJ, Captain Whitta, entered outwards at the Customs yesterday for Valparaiso, in ballast. The. barque Ceres, Captain Lorenzen, entered outwards at the Customs yesterd^r for Guam, in ballast. The barque Anne Melhuish, Captain Williams, cleared at the Customs yesterday for Newcastle, N.S.W., with a cargo of 20,000 feet of sawn timber, 200 bags potatoes, and 13 passengers, whose names will be found elsewhere. She will sail this morning. The paddle-steamer Prince Alfred, Captain Farqubar, will leave the Manukau, for Port Waikato and Raglan, at 7 o'clock this evening, having been detained until that hour for Government stores. She was supposed to be a Hamburg vessel, from Hong Kong, with tea, reported off Cape Brett eight days ago by the barque Frederick Bassil, which arrived from the Cape. Wbeck of the ship Pietuo Marconi. — By the mail steamer wo have intelligence of the loss of the ship Pietro Marconi, bound from New York for Hong Kong, "with 47 persons on board. The vessel, which was of Callao, and 1,681 tons, caught fire on j the 23rd December. The passengers and crew escaped by the boats, and were picked up by the Sydney barque Fanny Fisher, bound to the Mau- i ritiua. We shall give particulars of the occurrence in our next. The cattle ship Hydra, Captain Skene, left Newcastle, JST.S.W., on the 11th instant, for this port, with a cargo of 200 head cattle, 150 sheep, and 14 tons hay. It is probable that the ship signalled yesterday may prove to be her, instead of the Hong Kong «hip reported by the Frederick BassiL The schooner Petrel wont ashore in the Richmond river on the 13th, and became a total wreck. The crew were all saved. The Petrel was in this port about two months ago, and re-decked and re-fitted. The barque Gloriosa arrived at Valparaiso in December last from this port. The barque Alice Cameron arrived at Sydney on the 15th instant, eight days out from Auckland. The outter Agnes, Joseph, master, sailed last evening for the Kawau, with sundry merchandise, and six passengers. The cutter Comet, Deen, master, sailed last evening for Puhoi, with sundries, and one passengers. The cutter Uob Roy, McLeod, master, soiled last evening for Kennedy's Bay, with sundry merchandise, and two passengers. The cutter Bessy, Edwiwda, master, sailed last i evening for the Thames, with sundry merchandise. I The p.s. Tasmanian Maid, Captain Jackson, left I the wharf last evening for Coromandel, with a number of passengers. The cutter Cornstalk, Seymour, master, sailed last evening for Mahurangi, in ballast. The cutter Four Sisters, Gomez, master, sailed last evening for the Wade, with sundry merchandise and four passengers.
