The following return shows the state of the Mount Eden Gaol on Saturday last : —Awaiting trial before Supreme Court, 44 ; remanded, 4 males. Sentenced to deathj 1 male j sentenced to penal servitude, 42 males; to hard labour, 153 males, 7 females; detained for imprisonment, 1 male; in default of bail, 10 males, 8 females ; debtors, 8 males. Discharged during the week, 23 males, 3 females; received during the week, 28 males, 6 females ; total in gaol, 263 males, 15 femaloa.— Josefh Tucrwbll, Gaoler.— March 26, 1866.
