This fine steamer is 160.51 tons, with two engines, 60-horse power, and a carrying capacity of about 180 tons ; is in thorough working order, and can be employed without any immediate outlay. The ' Prince Alfred,' with her powerful machinery, large carrying capacity, and roomy passenger acoommodations, is most suitably adapted for her present profitable trade 5 and it will be well for the community of Onehunga that such a vessel be retained to develop the resources of the port in the inoreasi steam trade of the West CoaSt, In the Wangarei, the Bay of Islands, and Tauranga trade she may also be most profitably employed, and add to the rapid progress of these various settlements.
