POLICE COURT.— Monday. [Before T. Beckham, Esq , R.M.]
DRUNKENNESS. Catherine Buck, Gareth Burbury, Thomas Taylor, George Collier, Margaret FitzSimmons, John Smith, Ellen Eice, and John Burns were punished as usual for drunkenness.
INSANITY. Drs. Hooper and Nicholson were examined as to the state of mind of Henry White, and deposed that they had examined him, and considered him to be a lunatic, and likely to be dangerous to himself or others. A warrant was made out for White's committal to the Lunatic Asylum. THREATENING LANGUAGE. John Wilson was charged with having used threatening language to Peter Gardner. Plaintiff deposed that defendant had threatened to murder him and to burn his house down. He was afraid that he would do him some injury. Defendant said if his Worship would be lenient he would not offend again. He was ordered to find two sureties of £25 each to keep the peace for six months. Several cases were adjourned till to-day.
