The Customs receipts to-day amounted to £121 19s. 6d., making a total for the week of £2,290 10s. Yesterday (Friday) Mr. Buckland sold at Penrose 104 horses belonging to the Colonial Transport Corps. There was a. large attendance. Heavy draught animals brought from £z0 to £80, and the lighter class from £4 10s. to £20. The average* price of the whole was £21 Is, Bd. Messrs. Jones aud Co. sold to-day colonial bacon, at Is. per lb. ; pork, 7d. per lb. ; and lard, Is. per lb. F Mr. S. Cochrane sold colonial chesse at 10jd. j herrings (medium quality), Is, Bd. ; colonial butter, Is. 9d. per lb. A large quantity oE timber was disposed of at from 7s. 9d. to Bs. per 100 feet ; tongued and grooved, 11s. 6d. Messrs. Turrell and Tonks sold potatoes at from | £2 15s. to £3 12s. 6d.
