NEW ZEALAND GAZETTES.

We are in receipt, by last mail from the South, of four General Government Gazettes of the respective dates : January 29, 30, 31 ; and February 3rd ; but none of them contain any matters of great importance. In the Gazette of the 29th ult. a despatch from Major-General Chute is published, relative to engagement at Otapawa and Ketemarai. The Gazette of the 30th ult. contains a warrant under the hand of his Excellency, cancelling the appointments of certain persons to raise money on debentures under the New Zealand Loan Act, and making other provision for raising the sum of £60,000 ; also warranting the borrowing of £32,894 Bs. Bd., under the authority of the Debentures Act, 1864, and the Debentures Act Amendment Act, 1865 ; appointing additional polling places for the district of Heathcote ; notices of appointments, authorising Judges of Native Lan d Courts to frank letters free on the public service ; and list of officiating ministers under the Marriage Act, 1854. The Gazette of January 31st contains notice of appointment of William Weston, of Akaroa, Canterbury, to be a Justice of the Peace : and a despasch from Major Fraser relative to engagement at Onepoto.
