FREIGHT FOR COMMISSARIAT SERVICE ON THE WAIKA.TO. fTIHE Colonial Government having given notice of X their iuteutionto discontinue the Steam Transport Service on the Waikato, TENDERS will be received at this office, until noon, on THURSDAY, the 20th instant, for tho un.ler-mentionod SER. VICES on the WAIKATO RIVER, viz. :- 1. Conveyance of Stores, Baggago, ko., at per ton weight or measurement. 2. Conveyance of Passengers, first and second class (exclusive of messing). 3. Conveyance of horses. Tho tender to stato ono uniform rate for each of the above services, between any two ports (irrespective of di&tance), now in existence, or which may hereafter bo established ou the Waikato and Waipa livers, including the landing-place, Maungatawhiii Creek. „ All stores to be at the risk of the conti actor, from the -time they are handed over to him until doliveied at the ports to which they are consigned. The rates for first class passages to include ah allowance of half a ton measurement of baggago, and all deliveiies of stores to be taken aud ma.de on a wharf, where rfuch is in existence, aud otherwise on dry land, above high-water mark, at the cost and risk of the contractor. Tho Contractor will bo required to give security for the duo performance of tho contract ; and parties tendering should state the number and description of steam and other vessels with which they 2nopose canying out their contract, in the event of their tender being accepted. 1 he conti act to commence on the Ist August next, and continue until the 31st March, 1866. Conveyance of Stores, Baggage, &c, at per ton weight or measurement. 2. Conveyance of Passengers, Ist and 2nd class, inclusive of Provisions. 3. Con\eyauce of Horses. The Tender for the river transport of goods to state one uniform rate for each of the above services between any two posts (iricspective of distance) now in existence, or which may hereafter bo established, on the Waikato aud Waipa liveis. including the lamling-plaae at Maungatawhiii Creek. All storeii to be at the risk of the Conti actor from the time they are handed over to him until delivered at the places to which they are consigned. TENDERS FOR MAIL SERVICE BETWEEN OTAGO AND MELBOURNE. npENDERS will be received, to the Bth August X proximo, for tho performance for Six (6) Months, from tho 10th September, 1865, of the MAIL SERVICE between O PAGo and MELBOURNE, at present performed by the ' Albion ' and ' Hero.' The conditions of the contract shall be the sa»io as those published in tho New Zealand General Government Gazelle of the 12th March, 1564, with tho exception of tho duration and notice of termination, and that portion of the second clause of the said contract as therein published, which provides that neither of the steamships employed shall bo required to wait at Melbourne for the European Mail more than twenty-six (26) hours after its due date of airival, which is hereby altered to " That neither of the said steamships shall bo required to wait at Melbourne for the European Mail more than ninety-six (96) hours after its ilue date for airival theie," and that the contractor or contractors will bo bound to biing to Otago the European Mail arriving in March, 1866, at Melbourne, and to wait, if requited, ninety-six honrs after its duo date of arrival thero. Copies of the Gazette above refeire'd to may bo seen at any of tho Chief Post-offices of the colony.
