THE WRECK OF THE 'DARING.'
We have been kindly supplied with the following additional paifciciilais of the wreck of the schooner ' D.uing.' This vessel, which is the property of Mr. D. Kiilavood, of Onehnnga, was bound from TaranaUi lo the Manukau, lint from some inexplicable cause the ina&ter found himself opposite the Kaipara heads befoie ho was aware of his position, and theie being a stiff breeze at the time she either went ashore ov wis i 'in ashoi c on the Eangahia beach, on the south of the ICaipara. She had a cargo of grasa-seed, of I'ctv.'cen ,£4!)0 and £500 value, belonging ta Messis. Ciuickshanlc, Sraait, and Co. Mr. Kiikwood is now at the scene of the disaster, and employing eveiy meaiis possible to get his vessel off. He has abmt thirty men engaged in this woik, and lias brought timber from considerable distances with which ho his endeavoured to get her down from where she is, high and dry except at high watev. Being lightened of her caigo, he has succeeded in running her about one hundred yards neaier to the water and if thoeasteily wind v\bich has prevailed for the last few days continues, he will probably succeed in floating her. If the wind, however, changes to the "west before then, she will inevitably become a total wieclc, and the cargo, which is lying on the beach, will piobably be destroyed also. Neither the cargo uor the vessel was insured.
