AUCKLAND REGATTA.

The first meeting of the committee was held yesterdiy evening, at eight o'clock, at the Waitemata Hotel; Mr. Williams occupying the chau. Nine membeis were present The minutes of the previous meeting having been lead and confirmed, the following resolutions were passed :—: — Pioposed by Mr. WEYMOum, seconded by Mr. Stewart, " That seven membeis of committee form a quotum." Pioposed by Mr. Edwards, seconded by Capt. Tukm. r, " That the secietaiy be requested to wute to the Commodoie, asking him to become piesident of tins yeai's legatta." Pioposed by Mi. Wm mouth, seconded by Mr. Eiiwahik, ' That Lieutenant Giulding, Captain Maiks, and Mi Bum be appointed a deputation to wait upon his J'jxcolloncy Sir Geoige Giey and his llonni the Snpeiintendenl, to ask them to become pation and vice pation lespectively of this yeai's i eg-vtta " The lesignation of Messrs Wadham and Macfarlane, as meinbci s of committee, was accepted , and Messis. D A. Parsons and Swan and Oapt. Anderson were pi oposed and elected. On the motion of Mr. Parsons, seconded by Mr. Grey, the meeting was adjourned until Satmday evening next, at eight o'clock, when the ptogratnme is to be diawn out, and when it is to be hoped that all membeis of the committee will attend.
