Until evening therefore drew nigh, not a veiy Lugo amount of business was tiansacted, but oveiy picpaiation was made to effect sales with despatch as visitors became moie numerous. Tho goods displayed were of an attractive and most vai led character, evidencing an untiling iymount qf perseyetAnoo on, the part of the fair l.uties who had woiked long and assiduously in the piep.iva.tiou of the thousaud-aiul-ono articles of luxury, comfort, or utility thcie exhibited, and ever borne up in their task by tho woi thiuess of the object sought to bo benefited by their voluntary and self-sacufioing labours. It would bo idle to attempt a description of tlie paraphernalia to be disposed of. There were five stalls ; four being loaded with ai ticlcs of apparel, • ornaments, toys, ko, and the rennining one f>ct apart for the supply of refreshments, so necessary to have at command, both for those who attended the bazaar as a pleasant means of killing time, as well as for those nioio deeply interested m tho disposal of the goods and tho consequent augmentation of the funds lo be raised. No. 1 stall was presided over by Mrs. Griffin, assisted by Mrs. Leary and Miss Shanaghan. Tho . stall contained a large collection of articles of needlework, two handsome pole-screens, cushions, dolls, toys, glassware stuffed pheasants, bead work, trinkets, children's outfits, handsome chair, &c. ; with model of altar, and marriage ceremony being pfirformed. No. 2 was attended by Mrs. Gongh, Mrs. Hunter, Miss Pilkington, the Misses Gough, Miss Hunter, Miss Knnst. Hero Svero displayed work-boxes, scents, quo of ' the Arundol Society's admirable pictures, and other ongravings, bead baskets, model of "The Cottage by the Sea," dolls, children's requisites, wool-worked slippers, Ac. No 3 was the refreshment stall, and presented a nice display of trifle*, blancmange, pastry, and tho necessary driukabW Mrs. 'Gorigan had the management of No. 4 stall, aided by Mn.
