WHEREAS a majonty of the peisous occupying property hable to be rated under the piovisions of the "Local Impiovement Act, 1558," having a frontage to that portion of Dui'ham-stieet between Queen-stieet and Albert-street, and occupying at least one half of the fiontage to the said poitiou of the said Street, have repiesented to me that they are willing to be specially lated for the purpose of forming the said portion of Diuham-street between Queen-stieet and Albert-stieet aforesaid. And wheieas I, the said Superintendent, for the purpose of laising one moiety of the estimated cost of the said improvements, do hereby by virtue of the powers and authority to me by the said Act given, order and direct that an equitable late at the sum of two shillmgs aud six-pence for evciy foot of frontage to Duiham-stieet between Queen-stieet and Albertstreet, be levied except upon such land as is by the said Act excepted. Aud Ido theieby appoint that the said shall be paid and payable to Robert Baillie Lusk, on the 19th day of September next ; and Ido hereby further give notice that in the Schedule hereunder written is set forth a list of the names of the persons liable for the payment of such rate, and the amount payable by each such peison.
