AUCKLAND LAND ASSOCIATION, No. 4.

The fifth half yearly meeting of the member! of this Association was held at the Secretary's office on Friday the 15th ult. Mr. E. King, the president, ocoupied the chair. Preliminary business having been ditpatched, a itatement of the Society's accounts was read, horn which the following particulars are taken. There are at present 128 members, holding shares to the number of 858 The value which these shares represent is £17,160. The total amount received since the commencement of the Association in August, 1858, ii £10,835 18s. 2d. The interest payable to members on account of payments to the Association it £671 105. Bd. Payments have been made from the funds of the Association to members (for investment) to the amount of £9900, upon which amount the interest which hai accrued is £740 ss. 6d. The receipts from other sourcei, — as entrance fees, fines, fees for transfer of shares, &c. —are £378 Is. Bd. After the accounts had been read the meeting proceeded to elect »n Auditor and a member of Committee, to fill up vacancies that had occurred since the laiit half yearly meeting. Mr. Wm. Hobson was unanimously elected to the former office, and Mr. H. White, jun., in the same manner, to the latter. After which the meeting adjourned.

Legal Intelligence. — On the 21st ulfc. Mr. Richard Matthews, jun., was, by His Honor Chief Justice Arney, admitted to practise as an Attorney and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of New Zealand.
