PROCLAMATION.

By John "Williamson, Esquire, Superintendent of the Province of Auckland, in the Colony of New Zealand. Whereas by an Act of the Impeiial Parliament of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ii eland, passed in the session theieof holden in the fifteenth and sixteenth years of the leign of her present Majesty Queen Victoria, intituled " An Act to grant a Representative Constitution to the Colony of New Zealand," it was amongst other things enacted that for each of the Piovmces established in the said Colony by the said Art there should be a Superintendent and a Piovincial Council, to be elected and constituted under and subject to the piovisions in that behalf theiein contained, and that it should be lawful for the Superintendent of any of the said Provinces to pioiogue the Piovincial Council theieof, fiom time to time, whenever he should deem it expedient so to do Now, the) ef ore I, the Superintendent of the Piovince of Auckland, (one of the Piovinces afoiesaid), do proclaim and declare that I do heieby, in pursuance of the power vested in me in that behalf by the said Act, pioiogue the Provincial Council of the said Province of Auckland, and that the said Piovincial Council is piorogued accordingly Given under my hand, and issued undei the public seal of the said Piovince, at Auckland, m the Province afoiesaid, this twenty-seventh day of February, in the yeai of our Loid one thousand eight hundred and sixty one.
