Commercial Intelligence. SYDNEY MARKETS.

By the Lord Worsley, s.s., our files of Sydney papers have been broughtup.to the. 15th inst. No changes are reported. Flour is still £18 to' £20 per ton, and wheat from 7* to 7s 9d per bushel. . Our Melbourne correspondent, in hia letter dated the 9th inst., says:— "The weekly wool sales commenced, a* usual, this morning— Messrs. Goldsbrough & Co. offered about 1350 bales, of which, however, about 830 bales only were sold ; there being but little disposition on the part of buyers to purchase scoured wool*, the whole of which were bought in »t full rates by the growers. Competition for fleece wools was well sustained, and any lots, in superior condition, fetched high rates. The quality of the wool offered was generally good, but the greater proportion more or less heavy ; the demand for greasy wools was rather easier, and although last week 6 prices were quite sustained, there was no tendency to pay higher rates for this description. Greasy sold at irom 10|d to lO§d, and fleece from 18d to 21 3 d. A small lot (7 bales) coarse, bringing 16Jd per lb. •• A small lot of hides, well cured, brought 12s 6d From Tasmania we have intelligence to the 4th inst. The ' Cornwall Chronicle' gives the following report of the markets at Launceston :— . " The tendency of the grain and flour market is still steadily upwards. Wheat is scarce and in demand at 8s: oats, at 5s lOd to 6s; bran la 10 to 2s per bushel; and flour, at £17 10s to £18 per ton; flour. per tonoi 2000 lbi, at steam miil, Taraar, lhom»sor.,& Co.. fine £18, seconds £16; Union steam mill, Gaunt, fine £19, seconds £17 ; Cataract mill, fine £18, seconds £16; Exeter mills, St. John-street, fine £18, seconds £16." " The • Hobart Town Mercury reports :— "The advices that came from Melbourne this morning produced a slight movement in the grain market, and wheat went up about 3d a bushel, quotations being «iven at 8s to 8s 6d, two or three sales having been effected at the latter price. Oats have slightly improved, and to-day there were a few inquiries; co omal were quoted rather higher. 5s 6d co 6s per bushel. juigiun barley is not in much, request at 7s. Not much is doing in hay. but no change has taken place in prices ; loose hay range* f"> m £6 to £7 lOs P er ton> aoco * dm S l ,° quality, and country pressed, with little or no demand, » quoted at £6 10s to £7 10s. "Somt business is visible in the fiuur market, and prices have experienced an advance of about 10s per ton induced by the rise in the Melbourne and Adelaide markets.
