The 'John Phillips' from London had arrived at Nelson May 5. It is reported that th« 'Nelion' steamer will be •ent to London very shortly, unless either the General or one of the Provincial Governments decide on purehasing her. She is at present under a temporary engagement for three months to the General Government, the contract for one year with the Provincial Government! having expired on the 1st May. — Wellington Sptctator, May 12. The 'Titan' sails to-day for London. She has been loaded with wool by Messrs. Bethune and Hunter, and her cargo ii estimated to be worth about £9,000. This is not, we understand, above one-fourth the wool that has been shipped this year from Wellington, the rest having besn sent via Sydney. Some hundred bales, chiefly from Wairarapa, still remain on hand, the residve of this year's clip. — Ibid.
