Destruction of the Fremises belonging to Mr. John Nicholson, Black Bull Inn, Albert-street. Auckland. IT having been proposed by some of the L> habitants to form a SUBSCRIPTION LIST, and to collect a sum in some measure to alleviate tho distress of Mr. NICHOLSONS family, occasioned by the above catastrophe, and to enable him again to commence business for their sup» port. Subscriptions for the above purpose will be received at all the Hotels in the City, and by Mr. A. G. Betts, who is also authorized to receive them in aid of the above object. The loss has been estimated at about (£1500) fifteen hundred pounds, and occurring as the fire did, at night, not even the clothing of the family was saved. December 12, 1853.

Brickfield Cottage. MRS. HAMER will be happy to receive six young ladies as boarders, and eight day scholars, to educate with her own daughters. The Rev. T. Hamer will render assistance in some departments. A liberal education will be imparted, and constant attention paid to health.
