DEATH OF WELD CONA
Dominion Special Service. CHRISTCHURCH. October 26. The well-performed four-year-old gelding Weld Cena died at Ricearton today. He had a fall when playing in a paddock at his trainer's quarters and Injured his pelvis. Heath was due to an internal haemorrhage. Weld Cona was by Wild Chase from Imateagirl. and was one of the most promising young horses in commission at Riceartoil. He was owned by Mr. W. Butt and was trained by A. S. Ellis. He was being prepared for the New Zealand Cuti. I.ast season Weld Cona had 10 races for two wins, four seconds, and one third. Tills season he had two wins, a second and a fourth in six starts.
