HUGE U.S. MORTAR
Ready For Invasion Of Japan
(Received October 28. 7.40 p.m.) WASHINGTON. October 27.
The Army had all ready for the invasion of Japan a mobile 3G-inch mortar tiring a shell weighing nearly two tons, according to the annual report of General Brehnn Somervell, chief of the army service forces. It was comparable in size with some of the huge pieces the Russians were reported to have used against the Germans.
