DUTCH CONSUL AT WELLINGTON
Mr. Vigeveno Leaving
Tlie Consul for the Netherlands at Wellington, Mr. M. F. Vigeveno. who will soon be leaving New Zealand, will go to Singapore as Consul-General to reopen the Netherlands Consulate-General in that city. Mr. Vigeveno expects to be in Singapore for some months, alter which he will go to The Hague to take up a post in the Department of Foreign Affairs. Mr. Vigeveno’s successor in Wellington will be Jonkheer Dr. W E. van Panlinvß nt. present counsellor io the Neth-
erlands Legation at Canberra. Dr. van Panhuys, who is married and has two young children, entered the Netherlands Foreign Service in 1929 and has had an interesting career, serving in such a variety of posts as Copenhagen, Prague, Paris, Rome and Madrid Dr. van I anhuvs attained the rank of counsellor in 1941 and will be Consul-General in Wellington. He is expected to arrive toward the end of October. Another change in the Netherlands consular representation at Wellington is the appointment of Mr E. F. M. van Hall as Vice-Consul. Mr van Hall has already been attached to the Consulate for some years as secretary.
