SUBMITTING QUESTIONS TO SPEAKER
Matter To Be Considered
The advisability of continuing the wartime practice of submitting questions to Mr Speaker before they were asked in the House of Representatives was discussed by Mr. Speaker The matter was raised by pe Leuderjot the Opposition, Mr, lIOjuLAND, who suggested that now lhe .war was over the practice of first submitting questions for security reasons might well be discontinued. ~ . C.T.-,, The Prime Minister, Mr. l-RASER. said that immediately on the conclusion of the war he had discussed the matter with Mr. Speaker. The Government had no purpose to serve by having questions SU Mr. tt SPEAKER sail that questions were submitted beforehand in the House of Commons, and he thought the same should be done here, particularly in view of the broadcasting of 1 a fkanient, which altered the position entirely. . He thought that with the help of the Prime Minister and' the Leader of the Opposition 't might be possible to come to an agreement as to what should he done.
