£ Miss Rosipa Beason, Brooklyn, Wellington. has returned home after- visiting friends at Lansdowne, Masterton. Mrs. W. F. Kent-Johnston, Hawke’s Bav, who was the first president of Friends of St. Helens, was a visitor to Christchurch at the weekend for the laying of the foundation-stone of the new St. Helens Hospital by' the Prime Minister, Mr. Frdser.
