TWO YOUTHS DROWNED
Eel-Fishing- Tragedy (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 7. Locked in each other’s arms, the bodies of two youths who went eel fishing last night were found in the Brookby Stream, near Manurewa, at 8 o’clock this morning. The youths were Thomas Laurence Davies, aged 15, son of Mr. and Mrs E. B Davies, of Brookby, and Verne Underwood, 19, whose .parents live at Northpolice were advised early. this morning that the youths were missing, and a search of the stream was undertaken. The bodies were found in a pool about 12 feet deep, with steep banks on either side. It is thought that one of the. youths fell into the water and that his companion tried to rescue him. Medical opinion is that the tragedy occurred about ten o’clock last night.
