Pensions Earned
Sir, —I noticed in your paper of March 5 a letter by a person who signs himself “Disillusioned,” in which he states that the pensioner of this country has contributed nothing toward his pension. I think this is a distinct insult to many thousands of our people who have worked hard and fought hard in the World War I to make this country what it is today; many of us, myself included, have toiled since boyhood, gave service in the World War I, and now have given, our sons to the cause of freedom. Ido think that people with a small grievance to air should not rush into print and level insults at those that have done more to earn the right to a rest in their old age than, the writer of that letter. —I am. etc., FATHER OF 3 KIWIS. Sanson, March 6.
