SYMBOLIC AWARDS

General Bradley, commander of the United States First Army, visited FieldMarshal Montgomery’s headquarters today to invest 13 members of the fieldmarshal's staff with the United States Legion of Merit for services in connexion with the planning and execution of the invasion of Normandy and Llie liaison with the American armies in Italy and north-western Europe. General Bradiev said: •■Those awards are a symbol of the very fine co-operation we have had between our forces now and for a long time, and which I hope will contJuxuiKboui the.seara.”-
