He showed improvement when brought ill again, but gave further trouble after being sprinted, and with the scarcity of suitable horsemen to manage him it was decided to put him out of training in the nieaiilime at least. Brown Derby showed a turn of speed iu the little sprinting it was possible to give him, and hopes were entertained of him turning out a high-class galloper. Kindergarten lias been blistered and is being run in a pnddnek at L. J. Ellis’s establishment at Riccarlon. It Is hoped that he may be right for another preparation in the*early spring. Several Riccarlon horsemen will be at the Westport meeting on Saturday, including G. Ridgway, C- T. Wilson, H. Ford, K. Nuttall, C. IL Mackie. G. Hampton and C. McDonald. Irish Note was not nominated for tne ■Wellington meeting as earlier intended. He has been siifioriiig from muscular trouble and lias been eased up. Gamble f'oxliaveii. Eirst In, Immediate, Silver Sal. Prize Ring, and Riding Home have been nominated for both the '' el ‘ lington ami Oaniaru meetings on Marcn 17. All with the exception of Prize Ring will go north next week.
