Annual Prize-Giving

The ‘also rans’ will probably be prize-winners next year or the year after,” said the mayoress of Wellington, Mrs. Appleton, jvho presented cups, trophies and prize certificates last night at the Queen Margaret College pnize-giving ceremony held in the Town Hall Concert Chamber. Stating that as the mother of a Queen Margaret old girl she qualified for the great interest she took in the school for 11 years. Mrs. Appleton congratulated the girls on their magazine "Te Karere” and on their orchestra, which played during the evening. She 'extended good wishes for Christmas, New Year and the holidays. and hoped that when they met again they would be able to celebrate peace. >

Miss Hatch presented the association’s scholarship to the girl who this year , showed all-round ’"-omise. Frances Harding.
