Or. M. F. Luckie and the town clerk, Mr. E. P. Norman, were last night reappointed the Wellington City Councils representatives on the Carter Observatory Board. The Reverend Brother Borgia, director of the Sacred Heart College, Auckland, is retiring after 50 years in Hie Mnrist order. At .the annual prizegiving ceremony, Bishop Liston stud the worth of Brother Borgia’s work, nud that of his fellow teachers, was shown in the school’s record and its iucreasing strength. Iu 27 years, the college had given 50 students to the priesthood.

Mr. J. Turnbull, of the State Advances Office, Hamilton, has been appointed general secretary of the Public Service Association, ami Mr. S. H. B. Symons. Wellington, at present acting-editor of the Public Service journal, has been appointed assistant-general secretary. .Mr R. L Meek, of the State Advances Office, Wellington, lias been appointed asistant editor, research and publicity officer.

Mr. Arthur Tait, manager of the Borovanski Ballet, touring the North Island at nresent under the banner of J. C. Williamson. Ltd., left Wellington for Christchurch last night. Mr. Tait said that the enterprise of the firm in introducing the ballet to New Zealand in the face of existing circumstances had proved very successful, and, with its extensive repertnirc, was being well received everywhere.
