(Received October 17, 7 p.m.) NEW YORK, October l(i. In 109 days after the invasion of Europe the Allies landed 2,500,000 troops, 500,000 vehicles, 17,000,000 tons of munitions, and supplies. This was. revealed by Lieut.-General .Somervell in a speech in the “Herald-Tribune” forum. He added that the troops on the Continent are receiving at least a million gallons of gasoline a day, and that the Allies have laid down 8(10 miles of sixinch pipeline from the Channel and from the Alcditerranean to the front.
