Previous Visits Recalled (Received October 17, 8.30 p.m.) LONDON, October 17. Recalling His Majesty’s previous visits to the front, always on the eve of great forward movements, “The Times, in a leading article says : “It cannot be doubted that Allied commanders would be able to show His Majesty what they showed him in Normandy, namely, strategic plans which at the right moment will end the present deadlock, break down the barriers and restore the war of movement which this time will carry Allied arms into the heart of the enemy s country. “The King’s presence ’in their midst will have been widely accepted by the troops as an omen of victory to come.
