OBITUARY

Mr. F. D, Clayton The death occurred in Wellington last week of a retired official of the Bank of New’ Zealand, Mr. Frank Dinning Clayton. at'the age of 78. He entered the service of the bank in Auckland in 1882, and was shortly afterward transferred to Dunedin, where he remained till 1896. He was then appointed audit accountant nt head office, Wellington, and after this work and a period of relieving service became assistant accountant at Auckland in 1899. In May, 1903, he became assistant accountant at head office and the following year accountant at Auckland, He held the position of manager in the branch at Feilding, and in 1913 for 18 months at Melbourne, after which he was appointed inspector at bend office, which position he bold till he retired in 1930. Mr. Clayton is survived by his wife, a son, Mr. Keith Clayton, of the Bank of New Zealand, Palmerston North, and a daughter, Mrs. Rathbone, Napier. Mr. Robert Angus The death has occurred of Mr. Robert Angus, former manager of Thomas Cook and Sons, Limited in New Zealand, at the age of 76, says a l.’ress Association telegram from Auckland. He retired from Cook's nfler 40 years .service in November. 1931. Mr. IL J, Clayton The death occurred of Mr. Henry -Joseph Clayton, aged 80. who was for many years manager for the firm of Ilnlleustein Brothers in Dainievirke and Napier, Hawke's Bay, and for some years in business on his own account in Gisborne. -Mr. Clttyloii was the second son of file late Waller Henry Clayton, of London. England, who set tled in Gisborne in 1850 as a builder and contractor, founding the timber firm of Clayton Brothers. Mr. If. J. Clayton leaves a widow, a son, and two daughters.
