TRAM-TRACK REPAIRS
Manners Street Next Week Now that the weather is a little more settled, tramway track repair work in Wellington is to be speeded up as far as labour conditions will permit. A start will be made with the work in Manners Street by a large gang on Monday. So that the street, will not be altogether closed to tramway traffic while the work is iu progress, it. has been arranged to deal with a single track at a time. The mon will first re-lay the track on the northern side of lhe street, between Cuba and Willis Streets,'while the other track will continue to operate normally. It is understood that, re-laying' both tracks on this section of the system will take about 10 weeks. As from Monday, all trams departing from Luinbton terminus between 8.30 a.m. and 4 p.m. will run through Lanibton Quay and Hunter Street. The Oriental Bay cars will run via Jervois Quay from the railway station. The only trams running “out” via Willis Street will be the Brooklyn and Aro Street cars. Trains returning to the city will take the normal routes.
