Agreements Made With Australia STATEMENT BY MR. CURTIN (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) (Received September 28, 12.5 a.m.) CANBERRA, September 27. A four-year agreement under which the United Kingdom will' take all of Australia’s exportable surplus of meat aud dairy products was announced in the House of Representatives today by the Prime Minister, Mr. Curtin. While details were still being discussed. be said, an important point was that the Australian producers were now assured o£ markets for four years, Australia had claimed that the over-all payment for sales to Britain should cover the production costs, and it was presumed that this request had been met. The details regarding finance could not yet be disclosed, but the prices at present paid for various classes of export meat would be maintained.

With regard to dairy products, agreement had been reached on the major principle involved, but details generally bad yet to be determined. The agreement would operate from October 1, 1944, to September 30, 1948,. Cor meat, and from July 1. 1944, to June 30. 1948, for dairy produce.
