A statement in the Government’s White Paper on social security that there would be no room in the scheme for approved societies and that all the administration of tho scheme would be in tho hands of the Government has resulted in a severe drop in industrial insurance shares on the Stock Exchange. One stock dropped by 57/6 to 22/11. The association of approved societies has announced that it intends to light the Government’s scheme.
