Alleged Attempted Murder Of Constable (By Telegraph.—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, September 2i. Two men were arrested by a force ot detectives at a house in Newton this morning in connexion .with a on August 11, when Constable Richard William Meyer was wounded m the aim by a bullet from a revolver. In the Magistrates’ Court, John Leslie Floranee, aged 33, hotel porter, and Herbert Lorraine Woodham, aged 28, blacksmith, were charged with the attempted murder of Meyer, licensed, who were handcuttea together, were remanded till October o.
