NAVAL CASUALTY
The following naval casualty on active service was reported yesterday. BARKIS, Howard, Leading Wireman, dangerously ill. Mr. G. S. Creed, Edith St., Musterton (u) Reported missing on active service, Leading Steward Ngata B. Walker, R.N.Z.N., is the twin son of .Mrs. Edith and the late Mr. Albert. Walker, Tawa Flat. Joining the New Zealand Navy in May, 1639. he served in 11.M.5. Achilles and was in action in the Battle of the River Plate at the age of 17 years. Later lie saw action in 11.M.5. Monowal and H.M.S. Leander. He went to England toward the end of last year, and took part, in the invasion of Western Europe on Dday. When reported missing lie was operating somewhere In the English Channel. Ills twin brother, Supply Assistant S. D. Walker, is also serving in the R.N.Z.N.
