The approaching of the climax of the war has intensified the flow of Canadian exnorts to various countries, according to information which has reached the High Commissioner for Canada in New Zealand, Dr. W. A. Riddell. During May. June and July the Minister of Trade and Commerce, Mr. J. A. MacKinnon. announced that they ' aggregated 990,000,000 dollars, or almost 11,000,000 dollars daily. Over the seven months ended July they aggregated 2,025.000,000 dollars, an increase of 28 per cent, over the corresponding period of 1943. Exports included vast stores,, of fighting equipment. The United Kingdom was the principal destination with a total of 757.000.000 dollars against 574,000,000 dollars. With the virtual elimination of the U-boat the great bulk of these vital supplies was reaching its destination. The battle areas of Europe and the East had received heavy shipments.
