POST-WAR DIFFICULTIES
CANBERRA, August 25. The Federal Government has been warned that Australia’s post-war plans and demobilization programme may be jeopardized by lack of skilled men and materials. This warning has been given by the Co-ordinator-General of Works, Sir Harry Brown, who has submitted a national works programme for an estimated expenditure of £193.362,090. In his report. Sir Harry Brown says that plans which have been made up to the present time cover only one-third of the works in the programme. An “embarrassing and awkward. situation” may develop unless additional skilled planners arc made available, he adds.
