Year “The year through which we have just passed has again been one full of difficulties, not the least of these being the extreme shortage of workers both in out woollen mill at Petone and in our clothing factory in Wellington,” said the chairman, Mr. A. E Allison, at the annual meeting of the Wellington Woollen Manufacturing Co., Ltd., this week. “The woollen manufacturing industry in New Zealand may well feel proud of the.very important part plaved by it in- meeting the requirements of the war, and due acknowledgement or Its work has been made from time to time bv responsible members of the Government. Woollen mills arc now. engaged in another voluntary effort, decided upon some months ago. to assist the economy or the country by producing 300,000 yards of special material to provide men s, women 3 and children’s clothing, coming within the price limits of the stabilization index.
