SALE OF WORK AT MIRAMAR
A successful sale of work aud produee was held by the Miramar Y.M.G.A. committee on Wednesday afternoon i” the R.S.A. Hall, and more than £26 vns raised. In declaring the sale open. Mrs. Knox Gilmer spoke of the rapid extension of greater Wellington in the Mira-niar-Seatoun direction, apd tne cance of a women’s and girls association such as the Y.W.C.A. in the social development of the district. She drew a tention to the well-stocked stalls, including that filled entirely by the girls club, members of which also contributed entertainment in folk dancing and singing. A very smart and attractive hat is of pillar-box red felt. It has a broad brim, with a pierced design, which is bound with black satin, while rouna the crown is black satin, tied in a chic bow. A tailored hat ot black felt with the brim turned up at the back has an unusual trimming 01 a thick cord across thee rown, terminating in large tassels of cherry red felt.
