EIGHT NAZI SHIPS SUNK
RUGBY, August 23. Au Admiralty communique states that in the course of two brisk engagements fought: in Audierne Bay, between Brest and Lorient, in darkness this morning. His Majesty’s ships under the command of Captain IV. IV. Davis in the cruiser Mauritius destroyed eight enemy ships. Shore batteries opened fire on the British ships without .effect.
