Them? (Received Augrsl: 25. 12.5 a.in.) LONDON, August 23. Two flying-bomb attacks were launched from the Pas de Calais against southern England before ami after-dawn, were more sustained than usual. The enemy in each attack fired a stream of bombs across the Channel. ’J’ho anti-aircraft batteries put up the biggest curtain of tire yet. The thunder of the barrage of thousands of shells was interspersed with flic heavier explosions of flying bombs as some were blown to pieces in the sky or shot down. Coast oliservers said that, the ack-ack rumbled along the coast like a storm, while the air was alive with projectiles. Ono observer stated that judging by the number of the flying-bombs and the rapidity with which they were being sent, over tlie enemy is anxious to get rid of them while the going is good. _ Some of the flying bombs caino inland, including lhe London area, causing damage and casualties.
