The .£70,000 mark in the M elhugton metropolitan quota of £87,8(6 for the 194'4 combined patriotic appeal has been pasesd, announced Mr. V ineent M ard last night. John and the Red Cross Society, through their suburban sub-committees, were now making their sick and wounded week appeal for their part of the quota. In the second -roup led by the Police Pipe Band, will be detachments from the N.Z.A.N.S. and V.A.D.'s ambulances, several mobile specialist’units, and Joint. Council. Red Cross, St. John, and Blood Transfusion Service floats. The parade will follow the usual mam street route, and at Victory Corner Lady Newall will take the salute.
