Nazis Report More Shooting ALLIED PATROLS ON OUTSKIRTS?

The Germans report continued shooting in Paris, and declare that French patriots have been sent into the city while Allied patrols remain in (he outer suburbs.
Today's Allied communique says that several strenuous efforts by the enemy to break out south of Falaise have been frustrated, and an enemy counter-attack toward Chamboig from the north-west .was held. The enemy forces caught in the trap, -which include elements of at least 14 divisions, arc being subjected to heavy artillery fire.
Allied troops are now reported to be only 15 miles east of Marseilles, and are menacing its link with Toulon. Other forces are in the hills overlooking Toulon from a few miles away in the north. It looks' as if the Germans intend to fight hard for Toulon. Mr. Eden has returned to London from n brief visit to Normandy where be saw Generals Eisenhower, Montgomery and Crerar. Mr. Churchill lias been visiting both the Fifth and Eighth Army fronts in Italy.
