ITALY’S COLONIES
LONDON, August 20. Speaking today, Count Carlo Sforza, leader of the democratic opposition after the rise of Fascism, and Minister without portfolio in the Home Government, claimed that Italy should be allowed to keep her colonies after the war. though the ideal suggestion, he said, would "be for all countries to pool their colonies and place them under international administration.
bn the other hand, Italy would understand if the people of the .Dodecanese Islands wished to lie united with Greece. He also spoke of the valiant Ethiopian people who had been attacked by Italy in violation of international law.
Turning to Italy, he said that Trieste should remain Italian, but the port should be internationalized.
