Two Missions By U.S. Bombers DAY AND NIGHT (By Telegraph.—Press Assn.—Copyright.) WASHINGTON, August 20. The War Department announced that Super-Fortresses raided the industrial area in the vicinity of Yawata, in Klushu. . An Imperial Japanese communique stated that approximately 69 planes <sf the American Air Force in China, divided into 10 formations, raided Klushu and the western sector of Chikugo for about one hour from 5 p.m. today- . , , . . , “Japanese planes ’immediately inter 1 - cepted the enemy, shooting down oyer a dozen planes, of which three were downed by gallant bodily clashes by our planes. , , ~ . , “Some American crews who bailed out were captured. Some damage was inflicted upon our ground installations.” American bombers raided Kyushu and western Choguku district at midnight on Friday for the second time in seven hours, says Tokio official radio. About midnight some 20 planes from.the American Air 'Force in China again raided northern Kyushu and western Choguku district for about half an hour. Our losses were negligible.’’-
